Business Engagement and Transformation

TLAs as a marketing tool | April 3, 2009

Marketing is important. In fact in may be the most important thing in the world. I am not a marketing person. I know a few, and over time I have realised the importance of it all. This is not a marketing blog either. This is a blog about a range of issues across a range of topics. Some of the topics will become obvious fairly quickly, others will take time to evolve. Should anyone be reading this, then feel free to contribute to the dicussion.

Three letter acronyms (TLAs) are the backbone of the ICT (exhibit A) industry. Nothing can be done in ICT without a solid TLA to hang it on. Many of the big players of the industry are themselves TLAs; IBM and SUN just to name a two. This blog’s name, Business Engagement and Transformation, came about trying to define a name for a body of work that was not the accepted industry name. The accepted industry name for this body of work I shall not mention for the moment, because that is the problem I am trying to address. Hence I have chosen to call this type of material, Business Engagement and Transformation, which can become a nice little TLA; BET.

One of my other favourite personal TLAs which will be woven into the tapestry of this writing, is DEF. For many years things were as easy as ABC. I am working in a business model which is as easy as DEF, Disruptive, Ethical and Future Facing.

There we go, 250 words for my first post and there is still no sign of what this blog is about. Perhaps I should tag it with some words that will give the game away.
